The goal of the Intelligence Division is to collect information about gangs, organized crime, gun traffickers and crime patterns in the City in cooperation with State and Federal agencies.  The HPD Gun and Fugitive Task Forces are supervised under the Intelligence Division.

Violent Crime Impact Team
The Violent Crime Impact Team is comprised of representatives from the HPD, U.S. Department of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, and the United States Marshalls.  The goals of the Violent Crime Impact Team is to reduce gun violence in the City of Hartford by targeting individual selling, transporting or carrying firearms illegally.
