Officer Thomas M. Knevet

Officer Henry Jennings

Officer Thomas Knevet
Officer Knevet became a  regular police officer on  October 23, 1911.  He died on November 27, 1919 when he was struck by an automobile while on duty.

Officer Henry Jennings  
Officer Jennings was appointed a patrolman February 29, 1960.  He was killed May 25, 1964 while seeking to apprehend a criminal suspect.

Officer Francis Fenton

Officer Harvey Young
Officer Young was appointed a patrolman September 22, 1952.  He was killed August 25, 1967 while taking a prisoner into custody. 

Officer Francis Fenton
Officer Fenton was appointed a patrolman July 1, 1951.  He was killed March 28, 1969 when he intervened with an armed man threatening a tavern owner.

Officer Ed Cody

Officer John Daley
Officer Daley was appointed a patrolman October 13, 1970.  He was killed July 29, 1977 when his revolver discharged at the scene of a police operation while taking cover from a man armed with a shotgun. 

Detective Edward Cody
Detective Cody joined the Department on October 26, 1953.  He was promoted to the rank of Detective on November 1, 1970.  He was killed April 16, 1979 during a hold-up of an armored truck.

Officer Tom Toohey

Officer Thomas Toohey
Officer Toohey became a Hartford Police Officer on November 26, 1979.  He died  on May 15, 1996 of a heart attack while partaking in an undercover investigation in the Frog Hollow neighborhood of Hartford.
