NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release: Monday, January 19, 2004 HARTFORD POLICE APPREHEND SUSPECT IN VICTORIA ROAD HOME INVASION CASE (Hartford) - At approximately 6:30 a.m., this morning, Monday, January 19, 2004, Units of the Hartford Police Patrol Division apprehended George Albelo, DOB 4/26/66, of no certain address, wanted as a suspect in the January 16, 2004, Victoria home invasion incident. Albelo was apprehended in the Hartford Hospital area of the city after HPD Patrol Units received information on his whereabouts from a confidential tip. Albelo is currently in Hartford Police custody on $152,000.00 bond, charged with Robbery in the First Degree, Larceny in the Third Degree, Criminal Use of a Firearm, First Degree Burglary, Threatening and Unlawful Restraint, and Possession of Drugs with Intent to Sell. In commenting on Albelo's apprehension, HPD Acting Police Chief Mark Pawlina stated, "Officers from the Patrol Division did a great job in rendering this situation safe the other night, and their hard work since then paid off in the quick apprehension of the suspect, giving residents of Victoria Road assurance that they are safe in their homes.
