NEWS RELEASE HARTFORD POLICE LOOKING FOR SUSPECT(S) IN EARLY MORNING ANN STREET SHOOTING. (Hartford) - At approximately 1:00 a.m. on Monday, March 21, 2005, HPD officers on patrol in front of 191 Ann Street, Club Blu, heard numerous shots fired from the parking lot adjacent to the club. Officers quickly responded to the parking lot and found a gun shot victim sitting in a vehicle in the southwest corner of the lot. No suspects were observed. EMS personnel arrived on the scene and while attending to the victim moved his body position causing one of the victim's legs to hit the accelerator, which resulted in the vehicle traveling across the street into the parking lot of 289 Asylum Street, where it struck a brick wall. EMS personnel then removed the victim from the vehicle and transported him immediately to Hartford Hospital where he expired. The victim's name is currently being withheld by Hartford Police pending confirmation of notification of family. The Hartford Police Department's Evidentiary Services Division responded and processed the crime scene. Detective John Koch of the HPD's Major Crimes Division has begun an investigation into the incident.
