Hartford Police Department Awards Ceremony, June 5, 2004 at Artist Collective. 

On Saturday, June 5^th, 2004 at 1:00 p.m., the Hartford Police Department will be holding an awards ceremony to honor police officers and civilians for their actions during incidents that occurred throughout the City of Hartford.  In furthering the Hartford Police Department’s commitment to positive community interaction, this ceremony will be held in Hartford’s vibrant Upper Albany neighborhood at The Artists Collective, located at 1200 Albany Avenue.

Among those being honored are Hartford Police Department Detectives Victor Otero, Andrew Jacobson, and Tishay Johnson, all of whom sustained serious gunshot wounds during the course of duty.  Citizens being recognized include Anthony Bailey and Angel Oliveras, who intervened and apprehended a woman proceeding to abduct a young child.

Members of the public are welcome to attend this function as are members of the media.  Light refreshments will be served.
