NEWS RELEASE Hartford Vice and Narcotics detectives investigate large scale heroin distribution network in city's Southend. (Hartford) - On February 9, 2005, at approximately 1900 hours, Hartford Police Vice and Narcotics Detectives, with the assistance of K-9 Barnum, conducted an investigation into large scale heroin distribution in the city's Southend. As a result of the investigation at 119 Arnold Street, Hartford, three individuals were arrested on numerous narcotics possession and distribution charges, and more than 750 bags of heroin with a retail street value of $7,500.00 was seized. In commenting on the successful investigation and the use of K-9 Barnum, HPD Vice and Narcotics Commander Lieutenant John Betz stated, "This is a perfect example of the value K-9's play in often dangerous police work.
