CONNECTICUT MOST WANTED FUGITIVE ARRESTED BY HARTFORD POLICE.

(Hartford) - Detectives of the Hartford Police Department's Major Crimes Division (MCD) have made an arrest in an April 11th shooting that occurred on Fairmont Street in Hartford.  Arrested and charged with criminal attempted murder, unlawful discharged of a gun, assault in the first degree and carrying a pistol without a permit is William Bowen, AKA Kyeshaun Jordan, DOB 9/5/78, of 22 Seyms Street in Hartford.   Bowen is the suspect in the shooting of Derrick Sloane in the early morning hours of April 11th in the rear of Fairmont Street.  Sloane, who sustained a gun shot wound to the neck, recovered from his critical injuries.

Shortly after Bowen was featured on a recent segment of Connecticut's Most Wanted, Hartford Police received an anonymous phone call from a citizen providing information on his whereabouts.  Based on this information MCD Detectives, members of the HPD's Northeast and Northwest Conditions and Emergency Response Teams executed a search warrant at 22 Seyms Street, Apartment A-4, where Bowen was taken into custody without incident.

In commenting on the arrest, Assistant HPD Chief of Detectives Mark R. Pawlina stated "the arrest of Bowen's is a direct result of a citizen stepping up to the plate and assisting police in removing a violent individual from our streets.  The Hartford Police Department is grateful to that anonymous citizen, and to Connecticut's Most Wanted for their broadcast of information about Bowen.  We are also very appreciative of the assistance of the U.S. Attorney's Office Project Safe Neighborhood program which also played a key role in the Bowen case.  This was a great collaboration by all involved."

Bowen is the third fugitive apprehended, based on information received through the Connecticut's Most Wanted program.

Bowen remains in custody on a $300,000 bond.  Mug shot of William Bowen.
