NORTHEAST VIOLENCE REDUCTION INITIATIVE: 
CLEAN SWEEP OF EDGEWOOD, GREENFIELD, VINE AND 700 BLOCK OF ALBANY SCHEDULED FOR FRIDAY, AUGUST 12TH.

(Hartford) - As part of the Hartford Police Department's Northeast Violence Reduction Initiative, a "clean sweep" of Edgewood, Greenfield and Vine Streets, and the 700 block of Albany Avenue is scheduled for Friday, August 12, 2005, beginning at 8:00 a.m.

Coordinated by the Hartford Police Department, the clean sweep project is made up of representatives from the City of Hartford's Health, Licenses & Inspections, and Public Works Departments, and Northeast Utilities.  Each week a number of streets are identified for street cleaning, removal of curbside debris, towing of abandoned or illegal vehicles, and removal of hanging sneakers and/or any other objects hanging on or disrupting power lines.

The media is welcome to observe this Friday's clean sweep of Edgewood, Greenfield and Vine Streets and the 700 Block of Albany Avenue.
