HARTFORD POLICE PARTICIPATING IN STATEWIDE "CLICK-IT-OR-TICKET" PROGRAM.

(Hartford) - The HPD Traffic Division will be coordinating this year's "Click-it-or-ticket" seat belt enforcement program in the City of Hartford.  The "Click-it-or-ticket" campaign, scheduled to run from May 23rd through June 5, 2005, is a national campaign to promote the use of seat belts.

"During the two week campaign the HPD Traffic Division will be conducting motor vehicle safety checkpoints on a daily basis throughout the city targeting enforcement not only on seat belt use, but on all applicable motor vehicle laws as well," said Lieutenant William Long, III, Commander of the HPD's Traffic Division. 

The enforcement program is supported by a $26 million national advertising campaign.
