NEWS RELEASE HARTFORD POLICE SEARCHING FOR VEHICLE AND SUSPECT IN SUNDAY HIT AND RUN ON CURTISS STREET. (Hartford) - Police are looking for an aqua (green/blue) four door Nissan Altima vehicle believed to have struck a child on Curtiss Street. The vehicle, possibly driven by an Hispanic female, is described as having a missing right front hubcap and may have damage to the front grille and hood. There may have been a second Hispanic female passenger in the car at the time of the incident. On Sunday, August 7th at approximately 4 p.m., officers were dispatched to 25 Curtiss Street on a report that a child had been struck by a car. Upon arrival officers found the victim lying in the street suffering from numerous visible injuries. Witnesses reported to investigating officers that the child was crossing Curtiss Street after purchasing an ice cream from an ice cream vending truck when the suspect vehicle struck the child in the roadway. The vehicle did not stop and was last seen heading south on Zion Street. The victim remains in critical condition at Connecticut Children's Medical Center.
