NEWS RELEASE HARTFORD POLICE DEPARTMENT TO HOST FIRST ANNUAL DOMINOES TOURNAMENT. (Hartford) - The Hartford Police Department will host the city's 1st Annual Dominoes Tournament on Saturday, September 24, 2005, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., at the HPD's Southwest Substation, 134 Affleck Street, Hartford. Registration begins at 10:00 a.m. Hartford Mayor Eddie Perez is scheduled to play the champion of the Youth Domino Tournament. The Tournament, working with the Hispanic Health Council, the Aetna Center for the Family, MiCasa, Hartford Neighborhood Centers, and Trinity College, is free. The Spanish American Merchant Association, Southside Institution and Neighborhood Alliance, The Boringuen Dominoes Association, and Chartwell are all supporters of the event designed to engage city youth in an historic game of Dominoes, played by kings, presidents, and communities and cultures throughout the world. Contestants will vie for trophies, prizes and t-shirts. All ages are welcome.
