HARTFORD POLICE APPREHEND BURGLARY SUSPECT.

(Hartford) - Detectives of the Hartford Police Department's Major Crimes Division (MCD) have arrested Pedro Grajales, DOB 8/6/70, of 43 Crescent Street, Hartford who was wanted by police in connection with a July 17th burglary of the Airport Cafe in Hartford.

Based on forensic evidence identified by Evidentiary Services Detective Michael Gaffney, and an investigation by MCD Detective Frank Bruskey, Hartford Police were able to secure an arrest warrant for Grajales early Friday morning, August 5th.  Utilizing information from a recent motor vehicle stop, MCD detectives Sergeant David Polletta and Andrew Jacobson went to 43 Crescent Street in an attempt to locate Grajales.  As Detective Jacobson knocked on the front door of the residence, Grajales attempted to flee out the back entrance where Sergeant Polletta took him into custody.

Grajales, who is thought to be responsible for numerous commercial burglaries throughout Hartford's Southend, was charged with burglary in the third degree, criminal mischief in the second degree and larceny in the sixth degree and remains in police custody on $100,000 bond.

Lieutenant Achilles Rethis, Commander of the HPD's Major Crimes Division, said of the investigation and arrest "exceptional coordination between Patrol, uniform personnel and the Detective Bureau resulted in the quick turnaround in this case and apprehension of the suspect."
