NEWS RELEASE HPD MAKE ARREST IN LARCENY CASE INVOLVING STOLEN PROPERTY FROM HARTFORD PUBLIC SCHOOLS. (Hartford) - On October 13, 2004 at approximately 3:00 p.m. members of the Hartford Police Department's Juvenile Investigative Division executed a Search and Seizure warrant relating to a juvenile sexual assault complaint, at 158 Magnolia Street, the residence of Robert Green, DOB 8/4/50 of 158 Magnolia Street, Hartford. It should be noted that Green is a custodian at J.C. Clark Jr. Elementary School in the City's North End. During this investigation it was learned that Green had a storage locker at 755 Capitol Avenue (U-Haul). Upon interviewing Green at his place of employment, this information was confirmed, and access to the storage area granted. A subsequent search of the storage locker revealed numerous items which appeared to be stolen from local public schools, the value of which was estimated to be over $2000.00. Green later admitted to the larceny during an interview with Detectives. He was subsequently arrested and charged with Larceny in the First Degree and has a bond set at $500,000.00 per the Hartford States Attorney's Office. Sexual assault allegations against Green are still under investigation by the Juvenile Investigative Division.
