NEWS RELEASE VICE AND NARCOTICS INVESTIGATION RESULTS IN SEIZURE OF LOADED GUN, AMMUNITION, AND MARIJUANA. (Hartford) - On March 23, 2005, at approximately 2:45 p.m., detectives of the Hartford Police Department's Vice and Narcotics Division conducted an investigation into large scale marijuana sales in the Albany Avenue area. As a result of the investigation, detectives seized a loaded 9 mm Smith and Wesson handgun with a high capacity 15 round magazine containing hollow point bullets, 27 boxes of marijuana with a street value of approximately $1,000.00, and $400.00 in U.S. Currency. The recovered firearm was found to be listed as stolen out of Colchester, Connecticut in January of 2002. Arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to sell (PWITS), PWITS within 1,500' of a school, criminal possession of a firearm, theft of a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit and carrying a weapon in a motor vehicle was Leonard Reddick, DOB 06/08/71, or 37 Huntington Street, Hartford.
