NEWS RELEASE HARTFORD POLICE APPREHEND BANK ROBBERY SUSPECT. (Hartford) - Hartford Police Chief Patrick J. Harnett today announced Hartford Police have apprehended Anthony Jones, AKA "Ant J.", DOB 9/14/64, of 21 Mitchell Drive, Bloomfield, wanted in connection with the Tuesday, July 13, 2004, robbery of People's Bank on Park Street in Hartford. The HPD's Arrest Warrant Squad apprehended Jones at approximately 9:30 a.m. at 420 Sigourney Street, Hartford. Jones remains in police custody on a $600,000 bond charged with Robbery in the First Degree, Larceny in the Second Degree, and Criminal Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. Detectives of the Hartford Police Department's Major Crimes Division issued a wanted poster for Jones, along with a photo taken by the bank's surveillance camera, on July 16, 2004. In commenting on the arrest, Hartford Police Chief Harnett stated, "The persistent work Detectives of the Hartford Police Department's Major Crimes Division and Arrest Warrant Squad have resulted a swift arrest in this case."
