For Immediate Release:  Wednesday, February 23,  2005
 

HARTFORD POLICE INVESTIGATING SHOOTING OF JUVENILE.

(Hartford) - At approximately 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 22, 2005, Hartford Police responded to a report of an individual shot in the 200 block area of Branford Street, Hartford. Upon arrival HPD  officers located a fifteen (15) year old juvenile male suffering from a single gunshot wound.  The juvenile was transported to St. Francis Hospital by ambulance where he is listed in critical condition.  Identification of the victim is withheld due to his juvenile status.

The Hartford Police Department's Major Crimes Division and Evidentiary Services Division located and secured the crime scene and are conducting the investigation that has included a canvass of the area for witnesses and suspects.  Major Crimes detectives are currently conducting interviews with cooperative witnesses and are seeking to identify suspects, initially described as three black males dressed in dark clothing.
