PARKING BAN ALERT.

Saturday, January 22, 2005
THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR, FIRE CHIEF AND POLICE CHIEF OF THE CITY OF
HARTFORD ANNOUNCE PARKING BAN.
STARTING: Saturday, January 22, 2005 at 5:00 p.m.
ENDING: Sunday, January 23, 2005 at 5:00 p.m.
(Hartford ) - The City
of Hartford has declared a city-wide total parking ban
beginning Saturday, January 22, 2005 at 5:00 p.m.
The parking ban will continue
through Sunday, January 23,
2005 at 5:00 p.m. Depending upon circumstances, the parking
ban may be extended.
During a city-wide total parking ban parking on all city streets is
banned. Any vehicle parked on a city street in violation of the
parking ban is subject to tag and tow. Violation of the parking ban can
result in a towing fee and fine in excess of $160.00. Anyone who
violates the parking ban, resulting in their vehicle being tagged and towed
should contact the Hartford Police Department's Records Division at (860)
527-6300 to file the appropriate form and pay the fine which will allow for
retrieval of their vehicle.
Individuals attending downtown
events on Saturday or Sunday, January 22 and 23, 2005, are encouraged to
utlized off street parking in surface parking lots or garages.
During the parking ban, city of Hartford residents without alternative off
street parking may park their cars in any Board of Education Public School
parking lot. In so doing, residents are asked to park in a group away from
the school building. Motorists parking in public school lots are
responsible for removal of their vehicle by the termination of the parking
ban.
