(Hartford ) - The City of Hartford has declared a  city-wide total parking ban beginning Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at 12:00 noon.

The parking ban will continue  through Thursday, January 27, at 5:00 a.m.   Depending upon circumstances, the parking ban may be extended.

During a city-wide total parking ban parking on all city streets is banned.   Any vehicle parked on a city street in violation of the parking ban is subject to tag and tow.  Violation of the parking ban can result in a towing fee and fine in excess of $160.00.  Anyone who violates the parking ban, resulting in their vehicle being tagged and towed should contact the Hartford Police Department's Records Division at (860) 527-6300 to file the appropriate form and pay the fine which will allow for retrieval of their vehicle.

During the parking ban, city of Hartford residents without alternative off street parking may park their cars in any Board of Education Public School parking lot.
