POLICE CHIEF PATRICK J. HARNETT TO ATTEND ANNUAL POLICE MEMORIAL SERVICE;
SEVEN HPD OFFICERS KILLED IN LINE OF DUTY HONORED.

(Hartford) - Chief of Police Patrick J. Harnett, along with HPD Assistant Chiefs of Police Lester McKoy, Mark Pawlina, and Andrew Rosenzweig, and Deputy Chief Michael Fallon, will be attending the annual statewide police memorial service today at the State Police Memorial located on the grounds of the State Police Academy in Meriden.

Chief Harnett will be leading a delegation of Hartford Police Officers and the Hartford Police Honor Guard, representing all members of the department and in the memory of the seven Hartford Police Officers who gave their lives protecting the residents of Hartford.  "These brave officers gave their lives in service to the public and we should never forget their sacrifice and always remember them as our fallen heroes," said Harnett.

Hartford Police Officers Killed in the line of duty, our "Fallen Heroes":  Officer Thomas Knevet 1919, Officer Henry Jennings 1964, Officer Harvey Young 1967, Officer Francis Fenton 1969, Officer John Daley 1977, Detective Edward Cody 1979, and Officer Thomas Toohey 1979.
