NEWS RELEASE (Hartford) - At approximately 6:00 a.m. this morning Hartford Police responded to a report of an individual down in the area of the Morgan Street Garage in Hartford. Upon arrival HPD officers located a male along the west side perimeter of the Morgan Street Garage. First aid was immediately rendered. The individual was transported to Hartford Hospital where he was pronounced deceased at 6:50 a.m. The deceased was an employee of The Hartford Guides, and assigned as evening security staff at the Morgan Street Garage by the Hartford Parking Authority. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification and in consideration of the family at this time. The Hartford Police Department's Major Crimes and Evidentiary Services Divisions responded to the scene and have begun an investigation. In commenting on the investigation, Deputy Chief Michael Fallon, also on scene, said "It was readily apparent that there was no foul play. The HPD is investigating this untimely dead with the cooperation of the Hartford Parking Authority and the Hartford Guides. On behalf of the Hartford Police Department Deputy Chief Fallon extended his deepest condolences to the deceased family and the Hartford Guides. We work very closely with the Hartford Guides in our effort to make the city a safer place. They have been longtime partners with the Hartford Police." Hartford Parking Authority Executive Director Jim Kopencey in commenting on the tragedy stated, "The Hartford Parking Authority extends its deepest care and concern to the family of the deceased and the Hartford Guides for their loss. We are working closely with the Hartford Police Department in their investigation of this untimely death. The deceased family and the Hartford Guides has our heartfelt condolences."
