NEWS RELEASE HARTFORD POLICE MAKE ARREST IN JARVIS SHEALEY MURDER CASE. (Hartford) - On Tuesday, December 13, 2004, Hartford Police officers arrested Cornell Preston, DOB 11/19/85, of 199 Sargeant Street, Hartford, in connection with the February 16, 2004 murder of Jarvis Shealey. On February 16, 2004 Hartford Police officers responded to 286 Homestead Avenue, The Buggy Bath Car Wash, on a report of a person shot. At the scene officers located Jarvis Shealey suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck. He was transported to Saint Francis Hospital where he later died from his injury. On December 13, 2004, HPD detectives assigned to the Major Crimes Division applied for an arrest warrant charging Preston with Felony Murder. Preston is currently in custody, with a bond set at five hundred thousand dollars. In addition t the charge of Felony Murder Preston was also arrested on outstanding charges unrelated to the Shealey homicide. Preston's bond on those charges was set at two hundred thousand dollars.
