HARTFORD POLICE IDENTIFY SUSPECT IN CLEVELAND CAFE SHOOTING.

(Hartford) - Detectives of the Hartford Police Department's Major Crimes Division have secured an arrest warrant for Anthony Thompson, DOB 11/26/80, of 25 Downings Circle, Bloomfield, Connecticut, wanted for the murder of O'Neil Robinson and the serious assault of two other individuals inside the Cleveland Cafe on Monday, February 14, 2005.  O'Neil Robinson's murder was the city's first homicide of 2005.

The firearm involved in this incident has not been recovered. 

Anyone with information concerning the whereabouts of Anthony Thompson is asked to contact HPD Major Crimes Detectives Jerry Bilbo or Michael Sheldon at 527-6300, extensions 5239 or 5262 respectively, or call the HPD's confidential tip hotline, (860) 525-GUNS.

In commenting on the identification of Thompson as a suspect in this case, Captain Richard L.  Kemmett, Operations Commander of the HPD Detective Bureau, stated, "I commend the tenacity of Detectives Bilbo and Sheldon in their diligent pursuit of every lead in this investigation.  I also wish to express our deep appreciation to the community for their support and assistance in our investigation."
