REVERSE DRUG STING AT 9-11 WYLLYS STREET NETS EIGHTEEN ARRESTS AND SEIZURE OF TWO GUNS.

(Hartford) - In an effort to combat illegal narcotic activity and in response to numerous complaints from citizens and local business owners in the South Green area of the city concerning illegal drug activity at 9-11 Wyllys Street, the Hartford Police Department's Vice and Narcotics Division, assisted by the HPD's Southwest Conditions Unit and members of the Connecticut State Police, conducted a reverse drug sting operation at that location on Wednesday, August 24, 2005. 

Eighteen arrests and two handguns were seized as a result of the investigation and subsequent reverse drug sting.  One of the arrestees, Matthew DeCredico of 52 Main Street in Rockfall, Connecticut, was also found to have stolen a pocketbook from an individual at 560 Hudson Street minutes before attempting to purchase narcotics with stolen credit cards and a cell phone during the drug sting.  DeCredico confessed to the thefts and burglary and police were able to recover the stolen items and return them to the victim. 

In commenting on the operation's success, Vice and Narcotics Commander Lieutenant John Betz said "Excellent coordination between members of the Hartford Police Department and Connecticut State Police has resulted in this successful investigation and reverse drug sting operation.  Enforcement efforts targeting areas of illegal drug activity such as 9-11 Wyllys Street will surely have a positive impact on the quality of life for area residents and businesses."

 1. Juan Burgos, DOB 6/5/70, 34 Huyshoppe Avenue, Hartford, CT.  Charged with Interfering with police.

2. Carlos Rodriguez, DOB 8/2/70, No certain address. Charged with Interfering with Police.

3. Luciano Diaz, Jr., DOB. 10/11/69, 9-11 Wyllys Street, Hartford, CT.  Criminal Attempt to Possess Narcotics (CIA), Possession Narcotics and an outstanding arrest warrant for Failure to Appear 2nd Degree and Criminal Trespass-2nd Degree.

4. Wayne Dixon, DOB 6/15/52, 154 Stonington Street, Hartford, CT.  CIA to Possess Narcotics and Criminal Trespass-3rd Degree and an outstanding arrest warrant for Failure to Appear-2nd Degree, Operating under the Influence, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

5. Nicholas Browne, DOB 4/4/85, 21 Quail Run Rd, Suffield, CT.  CIA to Possess Narcotics.

6. Delfone Harvey, DOB 10/4/77, 127 Standish St, Hartford, CT.  CIA to Possess Narcotics.

7. Diane Soto, DOB 4/26/73, 542 Park Street, Hartford, CT.   CIA to Possess Narcotics.

8. Ira Williams, DOB 8/2/51,238 Union Street, Manchester, CT.  CIA to Possess Narcotics.

9. Matthew DeCredico, DOB 9/27/86, 52 Main Street, Rockfall, CT.  CIA to Possess Narcotics, Criminal Trespass-2nd Degree, Credit Card Theft, and Burglary-3rd Degree.

10. Victor Torres, DOB 11/22/76,9-11 Wyllys St, Hartford, CT.  Possession of Narcotics, Possession With Intent to Sell (PWITS), and Possession of Narcotics in School Zone.

11. Felix Figueroa, DOB 1/21/82, 435 Wethersfield Ave, Hartford, CT.  Interfering with Police.

12. Adrianne Hodges, DOB 3/27/79, 9-11 Wyllys St, Apt. B7, Hartford, CT. Negligent Storage of a firearm (2 cts), Risk of Injury to a Minor, PWITS, Possession of Narcotics, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Operating a Drug Factory.

13. Timothy Braswell, DOB 12/9/83, No certain address. Conspiracy, PWITS, Criminal Impersonation and an outstanding arrest warrant for violation of parole.  Parole officer responded and Braswell will be incarcerated for six years for violating parole.

14. Jesse Burnham, DOB 3/31/73, 89 Terrace Ave, East Hartford, CT.  CIA to Possess Narcotics.

15. David McNally, DOB 5/4/68, 39 Loneland Street, Middletown, CT.  CIA to Possess Narcotics.

16. Lamar Howard, DOB 11/30/61, 172 Pearl Street, Middletown, CT.  Possession of Narcotics, PWITS.

17. Roberto Jimenez, DOB 10/2/77, 560 Park Street, Hartford, CT.  Possession of a Controlled Substance and outstanding arrest warrants for Failure to Appear-1st Degree, PWITS, and Mittimus.

18. Nicholas Ibsen, DOB 5/16/79,  9-11 Wyllys Street, Hartford, CT.  CIA to Possess Narcotics.
