HARTFORD POLICE SEIZE FIVE FIREARMS IN SEARCH AND SEIZURE AT 321 CAPEN STREET.


(Hartford) - Today, at approximately 11:30 a.m., as part of an ongoing investigation of illegal firearms in the city under Operation "True North", members of the Hartford Police Department's Major Crimes and Intelligence Divisions, Northeast Conditions Team, and the HPD's Emergency Response Team executed a search and seizure warrant at 321-323 Capen Street.  As a result of the investigation Hartford Police seized five firearms from the unoccupied first floor dwelling.  See below for photos of weapons seized today by Hartford.

This makes twelve illegal firearms seized by Hartford Police in two days.  In commenting on today's operation, HPD Chief of Detectives, Assistant Chief Daryl K. Roberts, said "Yesterday Hartford Police Chief Patrick J. Harnett announced Operation "True North" to stop the violence and seek out information leading to the seizure of illegal firearms and incarceration of those response for shootings in the city.  Today, with this successful search and seizure, the first in many under Operation "True North", the community, and most importantly the individuals responsible for gun violence in the city, can see that we mean business."
