Hartford Police to Launch Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Year's DUI Enforcement Program.

(Hartford) - Police Chief Daryl K. Roberts today announced that the Hartford Police Department had received a State of Connecticut Department of Transportation Highway Safety Project grant entitled "FY 2007 Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Year's DUI Enforcement Program. 

Effective today, November 22nd, 2006, through January 1, 2007, Hartford Police, utilizing the $36,835 State grant, will conduct DUI enforcement throughout the city during the entire holiday season.  The Thanksgiving DUI enforcement program will begin citywide tonight from 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.

"The Hartford Police Department asks that everyone traveling the roads this holiday season to buckle-up, not to drink and drive, and to drive cautiously.  We want everyone to have a happy and safe holiday with their families and loved ones," said HPD Traffic Supervisor Sergeant Thomas Null, coordinator of the DUI Enforcement Program.
