Hartford Police Report
Few Arrests at Dave Matthews Concert at Dodge Music Center.
(Hartford) - Police Chief Daryl K. Roberts confirmed today that
there were minimal arrests and no major incidents at this past weekend's
Dave Matthews Concert held at the Dodge Music Center in Hartford's North
Meadows on Friday and Saturday night. Chief Roberts attributed the
success of the event to the excellent planning of Hartford Police and the
Dodge Music Center, and the cooperation of concert goers, who, Chief Roberts
said "want to attend a safe and peaceful concert and enjoy their evening in
the City of Hartford."
Captain Paul Hammick, Commander of the police detail assigned to maintain
peace and order at the concert venue said, "There were no large scale
incidents at the event. The few arrests that were made, seventeen in
all, were isolated incidents that were dealt with in a swift, safe manner by
the police. I cannot say enough about how proud I am of the
professionalism of Hartford police officers assigned to this event. I
also wish to commend concert goers who were energized, yet very cooperative
with police. All in all it was a pleasant evening for everyone."
