Two Die in Weekend Motorcycle Crash.

Hartford - On Saturday, October 28, 2006 at 2:55 am Hartford Police were called to the area of 887 Asylum Avenue for a reported motor cycle crash with injuries.  Upon arrival, police found two victims in the roadway with life threatening injuries.  Both were transported to Saint Francis Hospital.  The female passenger, Amanda C. Hersey, 24 years of age, from Manchester, Connecticut, was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Hospital.  The male operator, Bryan Hood, 23 years of age, from Marlborough, Connecticut, was pronounced dead later that day.  Witnesses observed the 2005 Suzuki SC5 traveling at a high rate of speed from the downtown area heading west on Asylum Ave shortly before the accident.  "The preliminary investigation revealed that speed and wet road conditions due to the heavy rain were both factors in the crash," stated Sergeant Jason Thody, Commander of the Hartford Police Department's Crime Scene Division, the lead investigative Division of the accident.
