As a result of this initiative over a period of days they recovered twelve stolen vehicles, nine stolen engines from stripped vehicles, shut down one Chop Shop at 24 Bliss Street, made three burglary arrests, four auto theft arrests, and served one outstanding felony warrant, as well as on July 11, 2006, at approximately 1:00 p m., in a motor vehicle stop based on their observation of a Honda driving erratically on Franklin Avenue, they seized more than 2,000 bags of Heroin. During the traffic stop of the Honda at 59 Arnold Street on July 11th, Francisco Algarin, DOB 4/14/81 of 399 Zion Street, and a juvenile were taken into custody without incident, and more than 2,000 bags of Heroin and $1,500 in U.S. Currency were seized. Algarin was charged with Possession of Narcotics, Possession With Intent to Sell (PWITS), Possession of Narcotics within 1,500 feet of a School, Misuse of Plates, Improper Muffler and Reckless Driving. The juvenile was remanded to juvenile authorities and Algarin's bond was set at $200,000 with a court date scheduled for July 24, 2006 in Hartford Superior Court. Photo
