CRIME TIP HOTLINE: 860-527-TIPS NEWS RELEASE Hartford Police 8th Annual Christmas Toy Drive.
During the week of December 11, 2006, police officers of the Hartford Police Patrol Division will deliver toys to children of families who have registered for the toy distribution program at Hartford Neighborhood Centers, 38 Lawrence Street (251-6517) or 115 Bedford Street (297-0130), Hartford. Hartford Police Sergeant Cyndi Dryfe, program coordinator for the department said, "Over the past eight years Hartford Police Officers have collected and distributed tens of thousands of toys to children throughout the city. It is an annual event everyone looks forward to." Hartford Police Chief Daryl K. Roberts said, "As this program grows each year so does the commitment of Hartford Police Officers to bring joy to less fortunate city children. Delivering Christmas toys to city children has become a holiday tradition for our officers, and, I believe, exemplifies the true spirit of holiday giving. I wish to thank Sergeant Dryfe and all the HPD officers participating in the program, Hot 93.7 Radio for its sponsorship, and the Jingle Jam concert goers who will be contributing toys at tomorrow night's Civic Center event."
