HARTFORD POLICE MAKE ARREST IN
OMARIE LAWRENCE HOMICIDE.

(Hartford) - Detectives of the Hartford Police Department's Major Crimes Division today arrested Wayne World, DOB 7/27/1979, of 20 May Street, Hartford, charging him with the murder of Omarie Lawrence.  World was arrested without incident at approximately 1:00 p.m. at his place of work, 144 South Street, West Hartford.

On June 10th, 2006, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Hartford Police responded to a call from St. Francis Hospital of a stabbing victim that had been transported by private vehicle to the hospital for treatment.  Lawrence succumbed to his injuries from the stabbing shortly thereafter.  Upon investigation HPD Officers located the crime scene on the sidewalk outside of 296 Sergeant Street, Omarie Lawrence's residence. 

World is being held on $1 million bond pending arraignment in Hartford Superior Court.
