HARTFORD POLICE RELEASE NAME
OF DECEASED INFANT

(Hartford) - Detectives of the Hartford Police Department's Major Crimes Division today confirmed the identity of an infant who died suddenly last week as that of Zarah Martinez, ten months old, of 132 Greenfield Street.  The State Medical Examiner's Office has determined Zarah Martinez's death to have been from natural causes related to a heart condition.

On July 24th Hartford police responded to a report of an unconscious child at 132 Greenfield Street.   Upon arrival officers found the juvenile unconscious and the mother administering CPR.  The Hartford Fire Department responded to the scene and administered aid.  The child was transported by ambulance to St. Francis Hospital where staff tried unsuccessfully to revive the victim.  Zarah Martinez was pronounced dead at 11:19 a.m.
