HARTFORD POLICE ARREST BURGLAR


(Hartford) - Members of the Hartford Police Department's Southeast Conditions Team have captured a suspect thought to have been involved in burglaries throughout the city.  Jesus Torres, DOB 9/26/1966, of 34 Huyshope Avenue,
was taken into custody by the HPD's Southeast Conditions Team on Friday, November 23rd, 2007, in the vicinity of 165 Wethersfield Avenue, near Colts Park. 

A suspect in an October 31, 2007 residential burglary on Curcombe Street in Hartford, Torres confessed to eight more burglaries throughout the city during an interview with detectives of the HPD's Major Crimes Division.   Torres was charged by Hartford Police with burglary third degree, larceny fourth degree, and possession of narcotics in connection with the October 31st burglary.  Torres remains in custody on $10,000 bond.  Police anticipate further charges in connection with other burglaries under investigation.
