FIFTY YEAR VETERAN TO RETIRE FROM THE HARTFORD POLICE DEPARTMENT; JOINED FORCE OCTOBER 14, 1957.

(Hartford) - On November 24, 2007, veteran Hartford Patrol Officer Donald R. Healey will officially retire after fifty years of service to the Hartford Police Department and the people of the City of Hartford.  Officer Healey began his career in law enforcement with the Hartford Police Department on October 14, 1957.  He wears Badge #1 as the most tenured Hartford Police Officer.  Officer Healey is also the most tenured City of Hartford employee, and is thought to be the longest tenured Patrol Officer in the nation.

Officer Healey's family, friends and colleagues will celebrate his unprecedented law enforcement career and service to the public at a reception to be held on Saturday, November 17, 2007, from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., at The Gallery, 141 New London Turnpike, Glastonbury.  Below is a recent photo of Officer Healey with his  colleagues of the Hartford Police Department Traffic Division, a biography of Officer Healey, details of the event, and a video profile of Officer Healey from May of 2006, by WFSB News Anchor Dennis House, who will be Master of Ceremonies at the November 17th event.
