Hartford Police Conduct
Sex Offender Compliance Check

(Hartford) - On Wednesday, September 26, 2007, Hartford Police conducted an enforcement effort to track down ten known sex offenders with Hartford addresses that were believed to be not in compliance with state laws mandating their registration on the State of Connecticut Sex Offender Registry. 

The compliance check  was coordinated by the Hartford Police Department's Juvenile Investigative Division (JID), and resulted in one arrest, confirmation of the out of four individuals at out of state locations and two as deceased.  One sex offender's location was verified and three were not located.  Below are the names of the ten sex offenders targeted with links, where available, to their photos on the Sex Offender Registry and their status as a result of this investigation.

Albert Langenvin, DOB 10/09/1948, 65 Prescott Street, Meriden.  Arrested for failure to verify address on State Sex Offender Registry.

Teofilo Ortiz, DOB 4/27/1953, Caguas, Puerto Rico.  Confirmed his location in Puerto Rico.

Nestor Santiago, DOB 12/04/1976, Ponce, Puerto Rico.  Confirmed his location in Puerto Rico.

Lamont Robinson, DOB 7/10/1970, Charlotte, North Carolina.  Confirmed registration in North Carolina.

Orlando Cheverez, DOB 11/30/1960, LKA 140 Russ Street, Hartford.  Not located.  Wanted by Hartford Police for failure to verify address.  Numerous citizens have confirmed Cheverez frequents the Barry Square area.

Reymundi Seda, DOB 04/05/1970, LKA 16 Whitmore Street, Hartford.  Not located.  Wanted by Hartford Police for failure to verify address.

Sherman Reynolds, DOB 09/12/1979, LKA 950 Asylum Avenue, Apartment 215, Hartford.  Not located.  Wanted by Hartford Police for failure to verify address.

Rafael Vasquez, DOB 08/02/1981, LKA 17 Crown Street, First Floor, Hartford.  Located and address verified. 

Edward Santamauro, DOB 12/31/1946, 65 Evergreen Avenue, Hartford.  Confirmed as deceased.

Henry Trimmier, DOB 01/27/1957, LKA 560 Park Street, Hartford.  Confirmed as deceased.

In commenting on the enforcement effort, Chief Daryl K. Roberts said, "Cooperation from the community  was overwhelming in this investigation.  Detectives interviewing people on the street as to whether they knew of the whereabouts of  these individuals and why police were looking for them found an unprecedented  level of cooperation and were able to obtain valuable information on the whereabouts of some of these individuals."  Chief Roberts also stated,  "This sweep is part of an enforcement effort to ensure that these individuals comply with State Sex Offender Registry requirements.  I want the public to have confidence that the police know where these individuals are in our community and how to find them."
