HARTFORD POLICE WEEKEND TRAFFIC ALERT

(Hartford) - The HPD's Traffic Division has issued the following traffic alerts for the downtown Hartford area this weekend:

Saturday, March 15, 2008 -  The Saint Patrick's Day Parade will begin assembly at 9:00 a.m. on the grounds of the State Capitol, Capitol Avenue, Hartford.  Step off is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.  A map of the parade route is below.  Connecticut State Police will close the Conlin Whitehead Highway at Prospect Street at 10:30 a.m. and the Capitol Avenue exit off I-84 East at 9:30 a.m.

Sunday, March 16, 2008 - The O'Hartford 5K Walk/Race Marathon, sponsored by the Hartford Marathon Foundation, will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 16, 2008, in front of the Goodwin Hotel on Asylum Street, Hartford.    The walk/race through downtown Hartford will follow Asylum Street west to Jewell Street south to Trinity Street south to Elm Street east along Bushnell Park then north on Trumbull to Asylum.  Connecticut State Police will close the Conlin Whitehead Highway at Prospect Street at 12:30 p.m.
