HARTFORD POLICE IDENTIFY SUSPECT IN MARCH 21, 2008
MURDER OF TRACENTON COOK


(Hartford) - Detectives of the Hartford Police Department's Major Crimes Division have secured an arrest warrant for James Manson, DOB 10/112/1989, wanted for the fatal shooting on March 21st of Tracenton Cook, 16, of Manchester.

The arrest warrant, secured by Hartford Police on April 1st, charges Manson with murder, criminal use of a firearm, unlawful discharge of a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit, weapons in a motor vehicle and operation of a motor vehicle under suspension.  Manson's bond has been set by a Judge at $1 million.

Manson, described as an eighteen year old Black male, 5'9", 140 lbs, with brown eyes, medium complexion and black braids, has a tattoo on his right arm "R.I.P. Darla", scars on his right cheek, and a tattoo on his right forearm "Dada" with a cross.  His last known address is 159A Sheldon Street, Hartford.

As the firearm used in this homicide has not been recovered police consider Manson armed and dangerous, and if he is located not to approach him but to call police immediately.  Below is a previous booking photo of James Manson.
