CRIME SOLVERS TIPLINE: 860-527-TIPS NEWS RELEASE REWARD OFFERED
IN COLD CASE INVESTIGATION OF THE (Hartford) - Hartford Police Chief Daryl K. Roberts announced today an award of $50,000.00 had been approved by Governor M. Jodi Rell for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the death of Edward Bell. On May 6, 2005, Mr. Bell was found by Hartford Police lying in the roadway in front of 110 George Street, Hartford, suffering from a gunshot would to the chest. He subsequently died from his injuries. As investigative leads to the Hartford Police Department had deteriorated, the investigation was recently referred to and re-opened by the Cold Case Unit of the Chief State's Attorney's Office. Governor Rell approved the reward on March 27, 2008, in response to a request on March 10th by Hartford State's Attorney Gail P. Hardy.
