PARKING ADVISORY UPWARDS OF 300,000 ANTICIPATED (Hartford) - In preparation for the enormous crowds anticipated at this year's 28th annual Riverfest and Independence Day celebration, scheduled for Saturday, July 5th, 2008, beginning at 4:00 p.m., the following traffic advisory is being issued by Hartford Police in order to ensure public safety and maintain proper traffic flow for the event. Street Closure: Reserve Road will be closed beginning at 12:00 noon on Saturday, July 5th, 2008. This is the only street closure. Access will be provided to the Regional Farmer's Market. Parking: The
Hartford Police Department encourages the public to utilize municipal and
private garages and public and private surface parking lots.

No Parking: Parking meters will be bagged and no parking will be enforced on the following streets, beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 5, 2008:
In commenting on preparations for the upcoming Independency Day celebration in the city, Hartford Police Chief Daryl K. Roberts said, "The Hartford Police Department shall provide a highly visible police presence to ensure public safety and the safe movement of pedestrian and vehicular traffic throughout the city before, during and after the event.
