HARTFORD POLICE RELEASE NAME OF MOTOR VEHICLE FATALITY

(Hartford) - Detectives of the Hartford Police Department's Crime Scene Division have identified Mrs. Winsome Bell, 51, of Capen Street, Hartford, as the deceased from a fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred on Monday, August 4, 2008, at 392-394 Sigourney Street, Hartford.

At approximately 7:30 p.m., police responded to 392-394 Sigourney Street on a report of a one car serious motor vehicle accident.  Hartford Fire Department and EMS units also responded to the scene.  Witnesses to the accident reported to police that the vehicle had collided with two trees before coming to rest upon its side.  The vehicle caught fire and citizens pushed the vehicle right side up and pulled the two occupants from the wreckage.  Both occupants were transported to St. Francis Hospital by ambulance, where the female passenger was pronounced deceased.  The driver, Mr. Derrick Bell, husband to Mrs. Winsome Bell, is in stable condition and expected to recover from his injuries.

Hartford Police do not expect any charges as a result of their investigation.
