JOSE CARRION ARRESTED ON FIREARMS CHARGES.

(Hartford) -  Detectives of the Hartford Police Department's Vice and Narcotics Division have arrested Jose Carrion, 11/21/1983, of 185 Lawrence Street, Hartford, on numerous firearms charges.

On Wednesday, August 6, 2008, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Carrion, who has been under investigation by Hartford police for the sale of narcotics, was observed by detectives in the vicinity of 869 Wethersfield Avenue, the Valero Gas Station.  Detectives approached Carrion and after an intense and violent struggle, he was taken into custody and found in possession of a loaded Smith and Wesson 9 mm pistol, an unloaded Smith and Wesson .357 caliber revolver, and an extra magazine of ammunition.

Carrion, charged with criminal possession of a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit, possession of a controlled substance greater than 4 ounces, and criminal violation of a protective order, remains in custody on $1.75 million bond pending arraignment in Hartford Superior Court.
