HARTFORD CRIME STOPPERS AND TEXT-A-TIP

(Hartford) -  The Hartford Police Department is asking the media advertise and anyone wishing to assist police in investigating crime in our city to utilize two new anonymous tips programs.

The first, Crimes Stoppers, a community, reward based organization, can be contacted at through the Crime Stoppers Tipline at 860-722-TIPS (8477). 

And the second, Text-A-Tip, operated by the Connecticut State Police.  For Anonymous tips to Text-A-Tip, which cannot be tracked, text CRIMES (274637) then enter TIP716 and your message.

"I encourage anyone with information about crimes in our city to call the private, reward based Crime Stoppers Tipline at 860-722-TIPS (8477) or utilize Text-A-Tip at CRIMES (274637) enter TIP716, then message.  I must emphasize that the community’s help can make all the difference in holding those responsible for crime in our city accountable and that they are brought to justice," said Hartford Police Chief Daryl K. Roberts.
