CRIMES (274637) enter TIP716 and message NEWS RELEASE Hartford Police Confirm
Identity of Woman Killed in Train Accident On Wednesday, August 20th at 11:53 p.m., Hartford Police responded to a 911 call from a Connecticut Southern Railroad engineer stating that his train struck a person on the tracks adjacent to the rear of the Dodge Music Theater. Police, Fire and EMS responded and found a female had been struck and was trapped under the engine, unconscious. Hartford and State Police rendered first aid as the female was removed from under the train. The victim was transported to St. Francis Hospital by AMR ambulance. Upon arrival at St. Francis Hospital the female victim was listed in critical condition. On Thursday, August 22nd at approximately 2:12pm the victim succumbed to her injuries at St. Francis Hospital. The victim was later identified as Morgan L. Lancer, 26 years old, of Burlington, Vermont. Identification was made by fingerprint comparison and family members who traveled to the Hospital from Vermont. This incident is being investigated by the Hartford Police Crime Scene Division and the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation.
