Hartford Police Charge Man with Armed Robbery; Seize Facsimile Firearm.

(Hartford) -
An investigation by detectives of the Hartford Police Department's Major Crimes and Crime Scene Divisions and members of the joint HPD and Connecticut State Police Safe City Initiative has led to the arrest of a suspect police believe has been involved in at least five known armed robberies in the Northwest and Southwest districts of the city.

Malcolm Foster, DOB 4/23/1988, of 49 Tremont Street, Hartford, has been charged by Hartford police with first degree robbery, carrying a dangerous weapon, illegal use of a fake gun and interfering with an emergency call in connection with the August 27th, 2008, armed robbery of the Donut and Bagel Stop at 340 Prospect Avenue, Hartford.  During Foster's arrest police seized a Powerline Facsimile BB Gun in Foster's possession, believed used in the crime.

Foster, described as a Black male, 20 years of age, 5'9", 155 lbs, with brown hair and eyes, remains in custody on $500,000 bond.

In commenting on Foster's arrest, Hartford Police Chief Daryl K. Roberts commended the work of HPD Major Crimes and Crime Scene Division detectives and members of the Connecticut State Police (CSP), "The capture of this dangerous individual is a direct result of the hard work and dedication of the men and women of the HPD and CSP to making Hartford a safer place for us all.  Because of their actions Malcolm Foster is no longer a threat to the people of our city."
