Hartford Police Make Second Arrest in August 9th Homicide and Shootings.

(Hartford) -  Detectives of the Hartford Police Department's Major Crimes Division have arrested a second 17 year old male in connection with the August 9th, 2008 shooting incident that led to one homicide and six other injured victims. 

On August 29th, 2008, detectives secured an arrest warrant for Sylvester Burrell, DOB 8/29/1991, of 23 Emerson Street, Bloomfield, charging him with six counts of accessory to a first degree assault, carrying a pistol without a permit, unlawful discharge of a firearm and risk of injury to a minor.  Burrell was taken into custody by Hartford Police on September 1st, 2008, at approximately 7:00 p.m. as he was spotted in a vehicle at Tower and Blue Hills Avenue, Hartford.  He remains in custody on $2.5 million bond.

On August 27th, 2008, Hartford police charged Michael Ledbetter with murder in connection with the August 9th shootings. See related press releases below.
