Hartford Police Arrest Two; Seize Counterfeit Merchandise

(Hartford) -  Detectives of the Hartford Police Department's Vice and Narcotics Division have made two arrests and seized a variety of counterfeit merchandise including: 46 fake designer pocketbooks and wallets, 271 fake Nike sneakers, and 7 fake Timberland boots, as a result of an investigation into the sale of counterfeit merchandise in the city.

Arrested and charged with forgery and counterfeiting labels is Bobby White, DOB 4/25/1967, of Forest Street, Hartford and Antwon Blunt, DOB 3/9/1984, of Oak Street, New Britain, CT.

Vice and Narcotics Detectives, along with representatives of Powers and Associates, a private company dozens of trademark owners and manufacturers to inspect and verify counterfeit merchandise and represent them as the complainant in these cases, executed search and seizure warrants on September 16, 2008, at 605 Albany Avenue and 208 Capen Street, following an investigation into the sale of counterfeit merchandise in the city.
