Halloween Safety Tips
(Hartford) -
In support of a safe
Halloween celebration for our children, neighborhoods and businesses, the
Hartford Police Department has issued the following Halloween safety tips:
- First and foremost,
motorists traveling on Halloween night should remember that children are
everywhere and be on the highest alert while driving.
- We ask parents and
guardians to explain to children the difference between tricks and
vandalism.
- We have asked businesses
to heighten their awareness and be cautious of purchases that may have
the potential to cause personal injury or property damage - such as
paint ball guns or large quantities of eggs.
- The HPD has visited city
businesses such as convenience and department stores such as Wal-Mart to
ask for their cooperation in helping to make this holiday safe and
enjoyable for our children, our neighborhoods and their businesses.
- The HPD wishes to
emphasize to trick-or-treaters to never enter a strangers home
- And, most importantly,
report any suspicious activity immediately to Hartford police at
860-757-4000 or to the Duty Sergeant at 860-757-4350. As always,
in emergencies call 911.
