Hartford Police Investigate Early Morning Homicide


(Hartford) -
 At approximately 1:30 a.m. this morning Hartford police responded to a report of shots fired in the vicinity of 70 Gillett Street.   On arrival officers located a male in the second floor common hallway suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.  EMS personnel arrived on scene and transported the 19 year old victim to St. Francis Hospital for treatment.  The victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at 2:26 a.m. by hospital officials.

The victim's identity is not being released at this time pending positive identification and notification of next of kin.

The Hartford Police Department Major Crimes and Crime Scene Divisions are leading the investigation.   Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact HPD Major Crimes Supervising Sergeant Rob Davis at 860-747-4256, or call Hartford Crime Stoppers at 860-722-TIPS.
