Hartford Police Traffic Advisory in connection with the West Indian Week Celebration

Hartford - In preparation for this week's West Indian Week Celebration and Parade, the Hartford Police Department is announcing the following parking bans on neighborhood streets.  Neighborhood Street Parking Ban Map

Tuesday, August 4th and Friday, August 7, 2009 from 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.
On Tuesday August 4th and Friday, August 7th, from 8 p.m. to 4:00 a.m., Hartford Police will permit vehicular access only for motor vehicles, residents, and individuals possessing a residential parking pass (all other parking is banned) on the following neighborhood streets (see map):

Tower Avenue @ Rutland Street Tower Avenue @ Cambridge Street Tower Avenue @ Greenwich Street Tower Avenue @ Melrose Street
Tower Avenue @ Addison Street Main Street @
Rosemont Street
Main Street @
Ashford Street

Saturday, August 8, 2009 from 11:30 a.m. through Sunday, August 9th, 2009 at 4:00 a.m.
On Saturday, August 8th beginning at 11:30 a.m. through Sunday, August 9th at 4:00 a.m.,  Hartford Police will permit vehicular access only for motor vehicles, residents, and individuals possessing a residential parking pass (all other parking is banned) on the following neighborhood streets (see map):

Monday, August 3rd, Wednesday, August 5th, and Thursday, August 6th, 2009
On Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, August 3rd, 5th, and 6th the Hartford Police Department will enforce the posted parking regulations established on the above listed city streets.

On the above dates and times, police officers will be posted at all the listed intersections limiting access to ensure that streets remain passable for residents and emergency vehicles.  Officers will direct motorists to alternate parking locations.

Hartford Police encourage attendees to utilize alternative parking locations such as garages and surface parking lots.  Click here to view the Hartford Parking Authority website for a map and listing of parking facilities and locations.
