NEWS RELEASE Citywide Level Two Parking Ban Begins 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 28th Hartford - City of Hartford Police and Fire Chiefs and Director of Public Works have ordered a citywide parking ban to take effect at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 and stay in effect until 2:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 29th, 2009. During a Level 2 parking ban all parking on city street is banned. Any vehicle parked on a city street is subject to tag and tow. The Hartford Police Department Traffic Division will be enforcing the parking ban. During a citywide level 2 parking ban city residents may park their cars in any Board of Education school parking lot. Residents are requested to park in a group away from the school building. Motorist parking in a public school lot are responsible for the removal of their vehicle at the termination of the parking ban. This is necessary in order to clear the school lots. Individuals whose vehicles are towed can obtain information on the location of their vehicle and procedure to recover it by calling the Hartford Police Department Records Division at 860-757-4150. City of Hartford Public Works officials remind property owners and occupants to shovel sidewalks and walkways - including curb cuts - for pedestrian safety. Please do not shovel the snow back into the street.
