Hartford - Detectives of the Hartford Police Department's Major Crimes Division have confirmed the identities of two June 29th, 2009, homicide victims as Hector Sample and Justin Pickering, both 16 years of age from East Hartford, Connecticut.

At approximately 6:30 p.m. on Monday, June 29th, 2009, Hartford Police Officers responded to a report of gun fire in the vicinity of Two Wethersfield Avenue, Hartford.   On arrival officers located the two victims, Hector Sampel and Justin Pickering, suffering from gunshot wounds.  EMS personnel on scene immediately transported both victims to Hartford Hospital where they were pronounced deceased.
